This is our special Baby Chick Brooder Box, especially designed for those wanting a lightweight metal coop for their precious day old chicks but only on a rental basis. It is designed for up to 4 chicks for the first 6 weeks of life however up to 6 can live in it for the first 3-4 weeks. After that, the chicks will need more space. This box is made from lightweight aluminium - not heavy steel, and only weighs 4kg. It is constructed with 25mm X 25mm aluminium and uses galvanised screws so you will not get any rusting.

Dimensions are 0.35m wide X 0.35m high X 0.8m long.

 

Please note: The Brooder Box must be collected and returned to City Chicks based at The Gap in Brisbane. No delivery is available as the couriers will not take baby chicks.

The brooder box contains a heated lamp area where the youngsters can get up to mischief and be safe and warm. It comes with a 40 watt bulb so you can keep your littlies warm and snug.  They will need a 25 watt bulb after the fourth week. There are 2 sliding doors at the front that open and close easily. There is also a gauze piece that slides into the space between the doors allowing a cooler area for your chicks as they grow. All you need is some shredded paper or shavings and you can feel confident that your littlies will be safe for 6 weeks before moving up to an outside coop.
